This project is a heartfelt tribute to the amazing concept art of Cameron Sewell ( https://www.artstation.com/thdark/albums/548947 ), and to everything we love about retro tech and cute robots.

The moment I saw this Game Boy concept art, I knew I had to bring it to life in 3D. It felt like a lost toy from the past, full of charm and personality. I rebuilt it from scratch as a hard surface modeling exercise modeled in Autodesk Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered in Blender.

I also put together a complete breakdown where I share every step of the process from clean topology and UVs to lighting and presentation. If you're into retro nostalgia, tiny mechs, or just love seeing how things are made behind the scenes, I hope this inspires you as much as it inspired me to make this artwork in 3D.
